溫室 onshitsu by SHIBAURA HOUSE

A hybrid Taiwanese-Japanese community space—where the imagination of neighborhood connection comes to life, organically and freely.

"溫室" is the first overseas pop-up community space by SHIBAURA HOUSE, one of Tokyo’s most innovative community-driven workspaces.

Since November 2023, it has been hosted at Aplace FL, located on the first floor of Alife FL. During its limited-time operation, Greenhouse has curated a series of exhibitions and events, bringing new energy and dialogue to the local community.

Each edition of the project unfolds over several months under a specific theme, combining field research with a series of recurring public events.

The inaugural theme, “Homework in Japan,” launched in 2023 with five sessions of “Editing Meetings” hosted at Aplace FL. These gatherings were led by Mr. Kondo, a Japan-born editor and writer currently based in Taiwan, and centered on ongoing discussions around the concept of “homework” in both Japanese and Taiwanese contexts.

As we collectively imagine the shape of future societies, this space serves as a meeting point for people from 🇹🇼 Taiwan and 🇯🇵 Japan to come together to reflect on shared social issues and explore new possibilities across cultures.
